The default XP theme got changed on my PC, not sure how, but I did not do it
:-) Now I can only use the Windows Classic Theme. If I try to select any
other theme, it gives an error about the Themes service not running (It is
actually running though). I tried restarting the service, restarting the PC
and getting the Royale Theme, nothing helped. Please help...

I have the exact same problem. My XP theme does not even seem to exist any
more.

I found the problem with my system. I was using Remote Desktop and the
settings got changed to modem from Broadband, not sure how that happened. I
changed it back to Broadband and I was able to select the XP theme. Phew!
