| offline files wants to synch to server share that no longer exists We have a situation in which a domain controller / file server went down and will not ever come one line again. The users in this site use folder redirection to the server and laptop users have offline files enabled. We were able to restore the using DPM to a new server that was named differently. After modifying the GPO for folder redirection the desktop users redirected fine and all is well for them. As for the laptop users, they have "offline" data in which only the local copy exists or the local copy was modified. I copied what I could from the offline files folder or CSC to a network share and then allow the new redirection settings to take affect on the laptop. The user is now synchronizing with the new server share. My question is....... the "local offline data" that has changed and still wants to update changes on the old (never come online again) server share, can that be forced to update with the new server share? Is the best option here to copy the CSC or Offline Files data to network share and then delete the cache and start building a new CSC?? Thanks in advance... Chris |
