Issue Installing Printer (HP says it is a MS service issue)

I am installing an all in one printer the 3100 series from hp. When I load
the software all is fine with the priocess til it asks me to plug in the
printer (usb) I plug it in. And a error comes up that says
systems32\services.exe status code 1073741819

it then forces me to restart and when it restarts it removes the software.
I have tried all the various pieces of software from the suite to the driver
only and the smae thing happens in the same place. It works fine on my
laptop but not my home PC. Please advise on a solution.

Thanks
MIke

RE: Issue Installing Printer (HP says it is a MS service issue)

With canon, one must,as new hardware wizard starts, load the software cd,
as it finishes, the canon software installation starts, "the trick here is
not to
quit xp new hardware wizard till youre finished with the canon
installation",once
youre thru that, quit xp wizard.Any other way,it fails to load, you might
uninstall
all hp printer software/drivers,then plug into another port, try as
mentioned...
