| Windows Desktop Search - no PDF indexing? I use and love the Windows Desktop Search. I was concerned that the indexing would interfere or slow down my runnign applications but this has not happened. However on failing to find a PDF I have noticed in Indexing options/advanced options/file types that thhe files extensions only go as far as "mda" which obviously leaves out the prospect of indexing pdf files. Can anyone advise me on this anomaly? regards, Beemer |

| Re: Windows Desktop Search - no PDF indexing? read this, half way down there's is a link to the "Full Content PDF File" IFilter from Adobe. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/des...earchtype.mspx Each file type needs an IFilter, you can google around for 3rd- party-provided IFilters too. ---- Google Destop Search and Copernic are other good free tools if you should become dissatisfied w/ WDS; there are others too, google around... |
