Re: Add or remove programs tool malfunctions or(corrupted)? Window

I have had for some time a similar problem. This is the only thread I could
find coming close to my problems.

1.When I press the button Add or Remove programs the window shows the
programs in alphabetic order inclusive programs starting with Dxxxx; then
there is a blank window for quite some lenght, replaced by one fat black
vertical stripe in the middle, which then becomes several black vertical
stripes, eventually the window will be blank and at the end of the window the
remaining programs are shown.
2.When pressing the button for one program some information appear, among
others when the program was last in use. This information is highly incorrect
and does not reflect the actul usage of that specific programme. One example
is that IE7 is listed as used rarely although I use it every day.

I have two files appwiz.cpl placed as indicated above. they are both the
same date and size.

Look forward to your reply. kandt 43

See if this helps:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 appwiz.cpl

Thanks Kelly,

I did as you indicated. I did receive a messsage saying running regsvr32 was
sucessful. However, after restarting the problem persists.
