| Off Topic, can I have help w Google settings? I apologize for being off topic but I can not find an answer to this question. I am perplexed as to how,(or if), I can change my Google beginning search page back to the way it was prior to their update or beta or whatever. My minor annoyance is two fold. First, at the google front page, above the search bar, it lists "Web, Images,Video,News,,Maps,Desktop, and More>>", It used to be those items included "groups". I wish I could see "Groups" back in that lineup instead of having to click "more>>". I checked preferences and even right click on those items but their "properties" can't be changed. Another thing is; when I go to read someone's post in a newsgroup, I am automatically taken to the last reply instead of showing the original post and then the responses. It's annoying to have to scroll up to see other responses. I would appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction. thanks, |

| Re: Off Topic, can I have help w Google settings? These settings are controlled by Google. There is nothing you can change in the preferences that will have any effect. You can link to http://groups.google.com via your favorites, and/or create a shortcut to it on your desktop. As far as your second gripe, you may be able to change the default view if you sign up with Google Groups, but I am not sure about that. -- Mark N. <elflan@geocities.com> wrote in message news:1162162469.536007.95370@b28g2000cwb.googlegro ups.com... > I apologize for being off topic but I can not find an answer to this > question. > I am perplexed as to how,(or if), I can change my Google beginning > search page back to the way it was prior to their update or beta or > whatever. > > My minor annoyance is two fold. I figured Google would've allowed for some tweaking. One day I just noticed they changed things. |
