| Unable to open hard drive by double clicking it Hi All, I've come across a unique problem wherein the user is not able to open any of the hard drive partitions( C and D) by double clicking on it. She has to right click on it and say either open or explore. I've scanned the hard drive with updated antivirus software but it didn't find any viruses. Can anybody help me out in this? Thanks and Regards. |

Not a right-click problem, but maybe a Context Menu problem: Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm http://windowsxp.mvps.org/rcdelay.htm Try repairing the Drive and Folder associations: Fix File Associations. http://dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm -- Joe =o) |

| Re: Unable to open hard drive by double clicking it Hi Elmo, I think you didn't get me. What I mean to say is C drive or D drive dosen't open simply by double clicking on it. In order to open the drives I've to click Open or Explore after right clicking on it. When you right-click, neither Open nor Explore are in bold, so there is no default action. At least one of the suggestions should repair the association. -- Joe =o) |
