2 Hard drive not recognized

2 Hard drive not recognized. Using windows XP home edition service pack 2.
It has a lot of information that I would like to save

Did you open the case and do anything?

If not, perhaps your second hard disk has gone bad. Good thing you have
several backups on different media eh?

No back-ups did not open case////I think it might have been f-disked

So if you want to revover partitions from that disk try to use TestDisk -
