| Re: removing windows Hi, Boot the WinXP CD, start setup. Agree to the license (hit F8), then at the point where you choose the installation location choose to delete the existing system partition. Then create a new one from the resulting free space, format it, and proceed with the clean installation. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Clint" <Clint@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:16A60E87-0098-466A-96C4-7A6D1E8C3495@microsoft.com... >I am trying to remove the windows XP that I have on the computer now and > reinstall XP but I cannot figure out how to remove the one I have. When you clean-install Windows, nothing will be on the hard drive except the operating system and the few applications included with Windows. Any other software that came preinstalled by the OEM (Dell, HP, Compaq, etc.) will be gone. You will need to purchase and install new software such as word processors, etc. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |
