XP wont recognize files on DVD

Hi, i'm (trying) to install a The Sims 2 Pets expansion pack for my 10 year
old daughter. The DVD list all files with icons and everything - but when i
try to execute the autorun file XP creates a error message saying "the file
is not a valid win32 file". I suspect it has to do with the copyprotection
that comes with the game.

Anyone know what to do?

Re: XP wont recognize files on DVD

Does not sound like a copy protections issue. It looks like the DVD drive may
be starting to be un-reliable. Have your tried this CD on a different PC?
Can you "swap-out' the DVD drive on you daughter's PC?

Try running Disk Cleanup in Program, Accessories, System Tools.

Re: XP wont recognize files on DVD

I should have mentioned that - the DVD runs fine on another PC - and the DVD
player is brand new...
