| make "For Files or Folders" the default search choice shown whenStart > Search clicked, possible? 99% of the time I use search it's for files or folders, I would like to make Windows open to the "Files or Folders" search option as the default so I don't have to click on it every time. Is this possible? |

| RE: make "For Files or Folders" the default search choice shown when S I don't see that using <Win F> helps much as it brings up the same window that clicking on Help does. I would like to have the default for the Look In: box changed to C: as well as change the default mentioned by Mike Scirocco. I'm sure it could be done with a little hacking at the Registry. Anyone? ? | Re: make "For Files or Folders" the default search choice shown wh Thank you, Ayush, for that pointer, and thank you, Mike, for that interesting link. MS Tweak UI can switch between XP search and classic search. I doubt if there's an easy way to change the default selection in the "Look In" box.
