USB does not recognize

When I plug in my flash drive, the tool bar shows new devise, installed and
ready to use, and then shows Windows does not recognize this devise. The
drive works in two other computers and used to work in this computer. The
problem started when I inserted a new flash drive. During start up my
computer froze up. I eventually had to reset. I have restored to a previous
date and tried to download new drivers. The update drivers says I don't need
new drivers.

Any ideas how to get my USB working again??
