General Protection Fault

I am running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and all the latest updates on a
HP Pavilion 750n computer. When I try to start a Greeting Card Program
called American Greetings CreataCard, I get an error message "CACARD caused a
General Protection Fault in Module CACARD.EXE at 0008:A3B0". This is an old
program but I have been running it for years on this computer with the box
checked to run as Compatabile with Windows 98. I have never had this problem
before. I have tried re-loading the program several times to no avail. Can
someone tell me what to do to get rid of this error. Thanks.

RE: General Protection Fault

Try uninstalling software, then simply reinstall w/o 98 compatibility.

RE: General Protection Fault

Thank you for your reply, but I have already tried this and I still get the
error message. Any more suggestions?

Re: General Protection Fault

I had the same problem. I found that if you change your screen resolution to 800x600 and then back to whatever you had - CreataCard will start working. It will keep working as long as you don't log off your Windows. If you do, you will have to do the resolution switch back and forth again.
Good luck.
