audio hardware/software

Hi, I believe I've accidently uninstalled my audio software or hardware. I'm
using Windows XP Home Edition 2002. Does anyone know how I can go about
reinstalling the audio component?

thanks

If you merely uninstalled the driver/device, it should prompt you to
reinstall (or merely reinstall on its own) upon reboot. You can check the
status in Device Manager - you may need to get the drivers from the mfr's
website if a reinstall is required.

What does that mean? Your entire device manager is *empty* ?

Audio drivers, from the hardware manufacturer's website.

first click on the + sign before your computer name in device manager to
see all devices.See if anything listed under the other devices in device
manager.also look for exclamation mark under sound video and game
controller.
