| Red Vertical Line Okay this problem just started recently. So far every time I startup my computer and sign in, I get this red vertical line on my screen that keeps randomly popping up constantly. It's not causing any problem, but it does get annoying. I've already restarting and deleting any cookies. Does anybody else suffer from this and if so, please tell me there's a way to fix this. |

| RE: Red Vertical Line I couldn't say for certain, but I think your video card is getting ready to go out. this can be caused by a bad memory chip on the video card. You might want to hook this monitor up to another computer to see if the problem still occurs. That would pretty much confirm that there is a problem with the monitor. What type of monitor do you have? If it's an LCD, it's possible that there is a problem with the wiring inside the display. You might want to contact the manufacturer if the monitor is still under warranty. Good luck Nepatsfan |

Almost certainly this isn't a Windows issue, but a problem with the monitor. To be sure, try borrowing a friend's monitor and temporarily using it instead to see if the problem goes away. Or try your monitor on your friend's computer to see if the problem goes with it. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
