Time sync

For the last week or so, whenever I try to sync with Internet time or the
system does it automatically, I receive a message "an error occurred while
Windows was syncronizing with time.windows.com". This also happens when I try
time.nist.gov

What can I do to correct this?

These NTP servers are not reliable.

Frequently asked question. Try other NTP servers:
"A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are
available on the Internet" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262680/en-us

Re: Time sync

Change your time server to tock.usno.navy.mil

I think you'll find that time.nist.gov has been withdrawn.

You now need to use time-a.nist.gov

Note the extra hyphen +a
