i have c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 (401MB) can i copy the i386 folder to
c:\
(c:\i386) instead of down loading the sp2 from the site you give me?

i done everything you said but when i typed in "xpsp2.exe -u - S:C:\ it says
that
xpsp2.exe is not recognized as a internal or externel command , operable
program
or batch file.
what now

You had to download that ~260MB EXE file.

*Assuming* that file is RENAMED to; xpsp2.exe then that is the syntax.

The fully qualified name and path to the SP2 EXE file is up to you !

i downloaded" Windows xp-kb835935-ENU.exe" and renamed it to xpsp2.exe and
copied the i386 folder off my win.xp cd both are in my C:\ (C:\i386 and
C:\xpsp2.exe) , and still is not regonized. xpsp2.exe -u - S:C:\

it worked this mourning the only thing i did different is i typed s:c:\
instead of S:C:\. where can i read up on making a cd with winxp and sp2 on
it , something that i can use instead of windows xp cd.
well i sure do appreciate all the time you have spent on this old man and

it worked this mourning the only thing i did different is i typed s:c:\
instead of S:C:\. where can i read up on making a cd with winxp and sp2 on
it , something that i can use instead of windows xp cd.
