I can not change my homepage in ie. Advertisements keep popping up every 10
minutes, it's driving me crazy. I have Mcafee up to date and I have AdAware
Pro with AdWatch also up to date. what can I do please???? this has been
going on for a week or more. I have used Registry Mechanic to clean my
registry, (up to date)

First suggestion would be to dump McAfee for a decent anti-virus program.
There are numerous FREE online scanners that might be able to help you get a
grasp on what the main problem is. Hopefully whatever has infested itself
into your system won't block you from getting to them...
