| Sounds - lost new mail notification This might be silly but I lost my Outlook Express 'New Mail Notification' sound. I went to: start / control panel / sounds and looked there to redo my sound and ... it was gone. No 'New Mail Notification' at all. I don't know where it went or what I did. I do know that I had some difficulty with my graphics but that is not sound... ugh. I've searched for hours to find the sound or to download or if I could just copy that folder from my laptop control panel and replace the missing one??? I have winddows xp / pentium 4 / 2.40 GHz / 1.0 GB RAM if that helps. Thank you for taking the time... I do appreciate it! -- roxbits |

Why didn't you save your sound scheme. If you did, reload that scheme. > or if I could just copy that folder from my laptop control panel and > replace the missing one? Export these keys from the laptop's registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\EventLabels\MailBeep HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\ MailBeep\.current HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default\ MailBeep\.default Import these keys (PC) and try again. You might be better off when creating System Restore points prior to this action. -- d-d |
