XP clock

I have had a lot of trouble with the time on this darn thing. One minute it
is 15-20 minutes fast; look down & the time is what it should be. This goes
on every day & it is just a "fresh" install of XP. But now, it went to EST &
that isn't until next week. Is there a setting someplace that needs
tweaking?

Thanks
.....seaweed

Do you have automatic updates turned off? If so, that's your problem.
There was an update that fixed this.

Re: XP clock

KB933360 & when I tried to install, said a newer one was already there. Went
to Add\Remove & sure enought, it's there.

This may seem like a stretch, but I speak for similar experience:

- Is there anything on your desk that generates a strong magnetic
field (an electric clock is the first possible culprit I think if). If
not, then sorry I couldn't help. But I had that problem once, long ago,
and that was the reason for the problem.

If there is, try putting a minimum of 30" between it and your CPU/Monitor.

Tony

Re: XP clock

Double click the clock and select Time Zone. Ensure it is set correctly. The
select the Internet Time Tab and synchronize.

Re: XP clock

Thank you. I had taken the clock off the taskbar. Put it back one; did the
double click, hit Synchronized & it went back to DST
