| Webpages slow when first time open I use WinXP with IE6. After turning on my computer each day, any webpage I open for the first time open very slowly now. After that they seem to smooth out and open normal. This still occurs after I do extensive cleaning such as virus check, AdAware, windows cleaner, cookies deleted, temp files deleted, etc. Please advise as what I can do further. -- Sincerely, Jack Nation |

Do you have Dial-up, DSL, or Cable? Under Internet Options, General tab, Settings button, which of the four top settings is selected? If no cache is used, you have to wait for all graphics and other documents to be loaded the first time. Recalling the documents from the cache is much faster than downloading each time, so set it to "Automatically, or elsewhere to see if you prefer that setting. With Dial-up, you should cache documents all you can. -- Joe =o) |
