| lost item in start menu When setting up shortcut on a laptop I accidentally dropped the Excel choice from "All programs" elsewhere. No big deal for the admin account but now all other users can't see Excel. I created a desktop shortcut for now to the file but is their a way to refresh the "All Programs" list? |

| Re: lost item in start menu Ian I access Excel through Windows Explorer having an icon having an icon in the Quick Launch tray on the Taskbar. There is nothing to stop you placing an Excel shortcut there. The shortcut you are referring to seems to be located in c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Excel. If it is there I would access the file in Safe Mode as the Administrator. Right click on the file and check the Security tab access rights. The security tab is not visible to an Administrator in normal mode. -- Hope this helps.
