| Reboot problems with audio hardware I just wiped and rebooted a new hard drive for a Dell Inspiron 8600 and now I have no sound. I do not know how to get my computer to recognize that there are no drivers installed. Can someone help me with this problem? |

After you install an operating system, you must then install the drivers for all your hardware. This includes the chipset (motherboard), audio, network, video, and in your case any laptop-related software such as power management. Most Dells come with a Resource CD which includes all the drivers for your computer. Use this if you have it. If you don't have a Resource CD, go to Dell's tech support website for your Inspiron 8600 and download all the appropriate drivers for installation.
