| XP Pro not connecting to internet I recently did a new re-install of XP Pro and after the installation Explorer cannot find my connection to the internet. I'm using a cable modem and am hooked up to a wireless router. The two other computers running off wireless connect just fine, but my hard-wired desktop will not connect. I get the standard explorer window you get when there is no connection found. My hardware seems to be recognized and this computer connected just fine before the reformat/reinstall. I know this may not be enough info and that I'm probably just missing something simple, but I can't figure it out. Jeff |

| Re: XP Pro not connecting to internet I suspect your problem lies in drivers. Reformatting a computer you will lose all your drivers. I bet you network card drivers are not installed and probably some others as well, ie: does your sound work? First: you may have a disc that came with the computer or the parts that says drivers on it. Load the drivers off of that disc if you have it. If not proceed to the second scenario. Second: To find out what drivers you need you can download and install belarc advisor and it will tell you which devices you have. Then go download the drivers on a computer with a working internet connection and then go seach the manufacturers websites for the proper drivers. If you have no luck google is good but driverguide.com is better. Links..
