Mixing device not recognized

Probably after an update my computer doesn't recognize the mixing device
anymore.
There is no sound anymore.
The soundcard is allright, de drivers are new. The connection with the
speakers is good etc.
In Sound and Audio Devices in the Control Panel there is no audio device
everything is greyed out.
In the System Devices section of the Control Panel the soundcard is
recognized and works properly.

The problem is not mentioned in the Knowledgebase of Microsoft but I found
somenone with the same problem on the internet.
He asked help on the internet and someone saild the problem is the Windows
Audio Service. (Windows Audio Properties) Usualy it starts automaticaly but
now it is stopped. It should be activated again.
It was true, the service was stopped. A restart failed and then I saw there
was an error in the path to the executable.
It should be %SystemRoot%\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs
In my case it is %SyctemRoot%\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

I tried to replace the c for an s but that was not possible. Someone on the
net told that it could be changed in the register in windows

When I studied the register I saw that the path in the register was
allright!

HKEY-LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ws csvc
Image Path = %SystemRoot%\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs

Summarized the path in the register is oke but the path in the Windows Audio
Properties (Local Computer) is corrupted.
What can I do?

Thanks in advance

Re: Mixing device not recognized

Edit the "ImagePath" value here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\AudioSrv

Note that "wscsvc" is the short name for Windows Security Center service.
