I need to reinstall xp. I've lost disc but still have license key. I've been
told that as I still have license I can get a copy. Does anyone know if this
is correct and where do I get one.

Where did you get the original? Did it come with the PC? Is it OEM?

it came with the PC. wasn't oem

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

Er.... That's contradictory. If the software license came with the
computer, it's almost certainly OEM. (The only possible exception would
be the purchase of a second-hand computer with a retail license from a
private party.)
