| Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error iexplore.exe I have Windows XP Home Edition and have multiple users on the same machine. Whenever one user is in Internet Explorer and another user logs in and tries to go to internet explorer or windows explorer, they get a runtime error in iexplore.exe. If everyone is logged in and not in IE, then it works fine. Any ideas? -- GT |

| Re: Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error iexplore.exe I have the same problem. Multiples users, fast switching, Windows XP SP2 Media center, Mcafee. Only the first user on Internet explorer can use it other users get a runtime error. have uninstalled Google toolbar, that isnt it. I think it might be something to do with Mcafee. I have other pc's that this doesnt happen too. or is it a security setting I couldnt find any other references of this until I found this newsgroup and sine ive seen other users with the same problen, just need a fix or solution now GT wrote: > I have Windows XP Home Edition and have multiple users on the same machine. > Whenever one user is in Internet Explorer and another user logs in and tries > to go to internet explorer or windows explorer, they get a runtime error in > iexplore.exe. | Re: Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error iexplore.exe Yes ! If you have google tool bar installed - uninstall it via Start/control panel/add or remove programs If this still doesn’t work then uninstall McAfee and the problem resolves. It took me 6 hours of trawling chat rooms to work this out, and my computer had only been out of the box 3 days !!! And have now subscribed with Norton instead which works fine. | Re: Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error iexplore.exe I went online with McAfee support and they gave me a resolution that fixed this issue. The tech didn't take too long to come back with this so I believe this is known. Go into Internet Explorer, Manage Add-ons and disable the two entries for McAfee Antiphishing. This resolved the issue on my Media Center PC. I don't like having the Antiphishing off, but it is far better than uninstalling McAfee. -- MD "Ijusdunno" wrote: > Yes ! > > If you have google tool bar installed - uninstall it via Start/control > panel/add or remove programs > > If this still doesn’t work then uninstall McAfee and the problem > resolves. > > It took me 6 hours of trawling chat rooms to work this out, and my > computer had only been out of the box 3 days !!! > > And have now subscribed with Norton instead which works fine. > > "GT" wrote: > > I have Windows XP Home Edition and have multiple users on the > > same machine. > > Whenever one user is in Internet Explorer and another user > > logs in and tries > > to go to internet explorer or windows explorer, they get a > > runtime error in > > iexplore.exe.
