svchost.exe-Application Error

When booting I get "svchost.exe-Application Error" upon booting. States
"0x745f2780" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be
"read", is there a fix for this?

RE: svchost.exe-Application Error

Yes, disable automatic updates. If you set this to manual updates, the
svchost.exe error does not occur. You can still update your box, you have to
do this manually.

RE: svchost.exe-Application Error

It's been 3 months since you posted this answer. I had the same problem with
two new Dells. Why are you the only one who seems to have the solution to
this problem. MS has a fix, of course, but they make you jump through hoops
to get it. Mahalo to you for knowing the answer and sharing it.

RE: svchost.exe-Application Error

I had "svchost.exe-Application Error" . I tracked it down to the Automatic
Updates service. I applied hotfix KB927891 to fix it.
