| RPC Server unavailable In trying to re-order the drive letters after a disk failure (and a week's worth of reconstruction), I get the above message. From "Computer Management" then clicking "Disk Management" the above error message appears. I can't seem to find how to get the "RPC Server" to return to "available" status. Pointers would be most welcome. |

| Re: RPC Server unavailable Start the RPC Service 1. Click Start, Run, Type in: services.msc 2. Double-click Remote Procedure Call (RPC). 3. In the Startup type dialog box, click Automatic, click OK, and then restart your computer. NOTE: If the RPC Service is disabled, you may need to use the Recovery Console. http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us%3b307654 How to install and use the Recovery Console 1. Type the following command: Enable RPCSS Service_Auto_Start 2. Press the Enter key 3. Type: exit 4. Press Return The computer will now restart. -- ================================== TaurArian [MS-MVP] 2005-2007 - Australia ================================== http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm Need more help? http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6527 (Links to web pages and MSKB Articles are posted for the purposes of keeping the information current) "HeyBub" <heybub******.com> wrote in message news:%23H03IG87GHA.2288@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... | In trying to re-order the drive letters after a disk failure (and a week's | worth of reconstruction), I get the above message. | | From "Computer Management" then clicking "Disk Management" the above error | message appears. | | I can't seem to find how to get the "RPC Server" to return to "available" | status. | | Pointers would be most welcome. | | | |
