| How to remove Internet Explorer icon from Desktop Toolbar? I've been looking for the answer to this from a Google search and can't find the answer. The IE7 icon is *not* on my desktop, which is good. It's in my Quick Launch toolbar where I want it. However it *is* in my Desktop Toolbar. Everytime I delete it, it comes back mysteriously after 5-10 minutes. Scott |

I normally refer to the bar at the bottom as: Start Button - Quick Launch - Task Bar - System Tray. |

Right-click it, click Properties and Internet Options opens rather than the normal shortcut properties. So even though you've elected to hide the IE icon on the Desktop, it's still there, and apparently shows up on the Desktop toolbar. You can't remove a couple other icons either, Recycle Bin and My Network Places e.g.. But you can create a new Toolbar, name it similarly, and copy/drag the shortcuts you want to that Toolbar. -- Joe =o) |
