| Install on SATA only In the past with my hardware upgrades I have had a combination of IDE and SATA hard drives. Seems everytime I decide to do a fresh install of XP, I would run into an issue with trying to set a SATA drive as the first drive or the drive I in install windows on. With my new hardware, all I will be running is SATA drives, no more IDE's with the exception of plugging one in to retrieve some data after the initial reinstall. So with the newer motherboards and where XP is concerned, is this an issue with this new technology? What I mean is, do you still have to go through the route of providing the SIL drivers when you get to that point in the install? Just curious since it has been a couple of years since I have had a new motherboard and I do not recall if this was a limitation of windows or of the hardware itself. Thanks much for any input! |
