start bar always show "New Programs Loaded"

When accessing my Start button, I am always met with the "New Programs
Loaded" box despite the fact that I have not put new programs on the machine.
Anyone got an idea of how to sort this. The machine is working fine.

Re: start bar always show "New Programs Loaded"

Hi John,

You're right; it can be annoying. Here's how to get rid of it.

Right-click the Taskbar>Properties>Start Menu tab>Click Customize
button>Advanced tab, and under "start menu settings" *un-check* "Highlight
newly installed programs. OK your way out, and you should be set.

Re: start bar always show "New Programs Loaded"

John,

An afterthought... I'm wondering if you apply the setting I suggested, and
then *re-enable* the pop-up, maybe it would behave as it should. Just a
thought.
