Error 27 Partition Magic 8.0

I am having a problem using Partition Magic 8.0; I have used it
successfully in the past. I made some changes to my partitions on my
hard drive and began the process, of course the system had to reboot.
The problem now is that I keep getting the error 27 cannot lock disk.
I cannot get out of it to check for running processes or at least get
back to my system. I am prompted about the error 27 and given the
option of hitting any key to continue. The system reboots and begins
the PM routine. There is a prompt before the routine begins to hit
any key to abort, this is not working. I even tried shutting the
system down and removing the power cord to clear the system out. I
start the system and the PM routine begins again. How do I break out
of this? I have a pc running winxp se2

Thanks Chris
