| How to Silence System Beeps/Alerts? Hi there, I've got a Dell Latitude laptop with a fresh installation of Windows XP SP2. I'm also using Office 2003. Every time I receive an email or get a popup window alert (i.e. an information alert, or a wireless network found alert), it is accompanies with a 'system beep.' This 'beep' is not from speakers like Windows sounds as when I mute the speakers, I still hear it. Can anyone tell me how I can turn of these system beeps/alerts please as they're quite annoying, particular when I'm getting tens of emails each day. Thanks, Se |

Select the "Sounds" tab. This property page allows you to configure the "Program Events" sounds or disable them. Mark |

| Re: How to Silence System Beeps/Alerts? Sorry if this is a double post, my first reply seems to have disappeared and does not show in my Sent items. Try Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds. In the pull down menu under Sound scheme, select No Sounds and Apply.
