"Linux" is apparently a bad word on Microsoft's Xbox Live

http://riverag.com/2007/09/03/the-wo...-in-xbox-live/

"I love Linux and the XBOX 360, so yesterday I tried to include the
word "LINUX" in the motto section on XBOX Live. I was stunned when I
got a message saying "Your motto contains inappropriate language.
Please try again". Come on Microsoft is that really inappropriate?
Maybe only to you guys."

I guess English isn't your first language. Do you know how to use plurals?

Yes, I just missed a few.
Not really a problem since the message gets across.

It must be OK when all you can find fault with are a few minor
grammatical errors that ultimately left the content intact.
Your need to criticize irrelevancies is noted.

I agree with Microsoft. Using Linux is inappropriate. Think about it: Linux
is for the people and created BY the people. What does that remind you of?

COMMUNISM!

Die commie bastard!

Actually, Linux has been gaining momentum but not so much due to past
Window users, but Unix users are finding out that Linux is very much
like "UNIX-lite." If you have an older PC (perhaps one with
Win95/98), you can load Redhat Fedora Core Linux onto it and configure
it as a proxy server with firewall (very few hackers know both Windows
and Linux internals). Works great, and very fast. I'm surprised
there is not a MS Linux version, although I doubt Microsoft would give
anything away for free, let alone open source.

Re: "Linux" is apparently a bad word on Microsoft's Xbox Live

yeah that's all that matters, as long as someone's message gets
through-- what someone is trying to say, gets understood.

Beyond that, things like spelling, grammer, typos, and other errors
really don't matter.
