Disk Cache Write Disabled

I have a boot problem with my PC -- an HP Pavilion with XP SP2 (and
updates -- come on SP3!) on a 80Gig HDD and a 2.2Gighertz Celeron with .5Gig
RAM. So I downloaded and ran Bootvis. I get ... disk cache write
disabled...and I have NO idea what that means. Can anyone help? Thanks.

RE: Disk Cache Write Disabled

Not sure about this but if you check like I did after using BootVis "Enable
write catching on disk" is checked. So its enabled not disabled contrary to
the warning.
How to see:
1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Hardware tab.
3. Click Device Manager Button.
4. Click the plus sign (+) next to the Disk Drives branch to expand it.
5. Right-click the drive, and then click Properties.
6. Click the Policies tab.
7. Mine the Write Cache Enabled check box is checked.

This message appears when there is a third-party bus driver installed
(Intel Application Accelerator, VIA or similar). No need to worry.
