Re: key board

Does it occur in an application
Does it occur at the desktop
Where does the problem occur at?
If in an application, which application?
What OS version are you running?

Re: key board

Are you using a specific device when you are using your hot keys?

Re: key board

What hardware are you using? IBM compatible or MAC? Is it a PC you are using?

Sounds like you have "StickyKeys" set. Go to Start > Settings > Control
Panel > "Accessibility Options" icon > select the "Keyboard" tab (if not
selected). Uncheck "Use StickyKeys".

Re: key board

Try any of these methods. I wouldn't suggest rebuilding as I'm not sure what good that will do with toggle keys, sticky keys, and hot keys... so let's start small and see if this works.

Here's something funny. Try holding down both shift keys at the same time, or just using the right shift key. and you've unchecked use shortcut under the filter keys option? If that doesn't work then another method to try may be system restore, or a virus and trojan scan.

Re: key board

What about a restore point, or a different keyboard all together, or disabling hotkeys, which you stated isn't the problem. If not, what about a fresh install?
