System Beep

I am having problems w/ my system beep being unusually loud. This started
occuring a few weeks back.

I have my windows sounds set to "no sounds". I know that this does not
impact the system beep, but I wanted anyone reading this to know I was not
confusing this w/ another system sound.

I have the volume turned all of the way down. I have even muted the
speakers. I cannot find anything in the BIOS setup that would impact this
sound.

Does anyone know how I might be able to turn the volume on the system beep
down?

Re: System Beep

Probably not but you can kill it. Device Manager|View|Show Hidden
Devices|Non Plug and Play|Beep|Action|Properties|Driver, then set the
"Startup Type:" to "Disabled"

Re: System Beep

I was able to restore the default system sound by installing Tweak UI,
"disabling beep on errors", applying the change, and then re-enabling the
beep. Is this same as making the change you reccommend? This is a company
wide problem for us and I 'm trying to determine a patch I can use to resolve
this.

Re: System Beep

I don't know since I don't have tweakui installed. If you have it installed
then it should be very easy for you to test by looking at the setting in
Device Manager both before and after (may need to restart in between).
