Selecting multiple files - PLEASE HELP ME!

Usually when I want to select multiple files, I click the first file, then I
press and hold shift key and select the last file and they all become
selected, but recently when I press and hold shift key then the final file,
it is not selecting all the files in between that I wanted. WHY IS THIS?!
Please help!

Perhaps that Shift key isn't working correctly. Try a different keyboard
to test.

Press Ctrl/A to select all. Ctrl/click deselects within the selection..
it's a toggle. I know that doesn't answer your query, but I thought you
might like to know it was available.
