In order for us to answer, it is important you provide as much detail as
possible.

What version of Adobe Reader? Does this happen when you run it as a
standalone or as a browser plugin? If the latter, which browser/version
are you running?

It's possible you may need to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader. If
this is the case, I would install AdbeRdr810_en_US.exe found at:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.1/enu/

Other information that might be useful:

Make and model of your PC
Type and speed of your CPU
Amount of RAM
Size of hard drive and amount of free space

Re: adobe reader

Please confirm that you are referring to the freeware Adobe Acrobat
Reader, which commonly offered for download on many web sites. There are
more sophisticated versions you can purchase.

What do you use Adobe Reader for? Is it it restricted to reading and
printing off documents or do you also edit PDF documents?

Do you leave your computer on 24/7?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

How large is your hard disk and how much free space. Right click on
your C drive in Windows and select Properties to get this information.

How much RAM memory?

What is your processor speed?

Hope this helps.

Re: adobe reader

Garry,

Either your chosen "adobe reader" is damaged and needs to be removed
and reinstalled, or the files you're trying to read are hopelessly
corrupted.

Because you're a moron.

Evidence of that: you can't provide info that would help someone who
is NOT at your keyboard help you figure out your problem.

But since you're a moron, you probably wouldn't understand.

If you cant fix your problem with adobe for reading/viewing .pdfs, then
one might want to try in the meantime.

Re: adobe reader

That's my preferred alternative. Much less demanding of memory and CPU
than Adobe!
