| Windows Key + E Fails to bring up explorer. In the last couple of weeks pressing the Windows Key + E, no longer brings up Explorer. I have looked at some of the registry hacks that are used to disable and then enable this key, but my registry does not seem to have had that change made. The following registry entry that I found online does not exist in my registry - there is no Scancode Map key. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Keyboard Layout] "Scancode Map"=hex: The Windows key does work as it will bring up the Start Menu and respond to the other standard key combinations, its just that Windows + E does not work. I don't know if it has anything to do with the Language Bar as I remember disabling some of the accessibility settings that annoyingly appeared unbidden. Peter |

| Re: Windows Key + E Fails to bring up explorer. Hello, Create a new User in Control Panel > User Accounts and see if you are able to open Explorer in the new user's account. If yes, one of the startup items you have starting up are probably intercepting the windows key. Use Autoruns to diagnose. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../AutoRuns.mspx -- Singapore Web Design http://www.bootstrike.com/Webdesign/ Singapore Web Hosting http://www.bootstrike.com/WinXP/faq.html Windows XP FAQ "Peter Nimmo" <PeterNimmo@newsgroups.nospam> wrote in message news:Xns99936CF0374EAPeterNnospamtnsofres@127.0.0. 1... > In the last couple of weeks pressing the Windows Key + E, no longer brings > up Explorer.
