Problems with PC since installing RegistryFix software

I have been plagued with problems since stupidly, I installed a bit of
software that I thought would help the PC run faster. Needless to say it has
simply and completely mucked up my system. Despite doing a system restore
the problem remains.

The issues I am faced with are:
Cannot pick up hotmail emails more than once before having to reboot
Cannot download any attachments on emails sent to the hotmail account
Cannot send emails via outlook after surfing the internet. I need to reboot
to send the emails
Games will sometimes not fully load and I have to reboot to 'clear the
system' - then it works.

I am thinking about formatting the hard drive and starting again! If anybody
has any ideas on how I might sort this problem out then I would be eternally
gratefull.

Thanks

Re: Problems with PC since installing RegistryFix software

Regardless of whatever you do, get and use an Imaging program such
as Acronis True Image. Take frequent System Images (Weekly) and
then the next time something is done to the PC that doesn't turn out -
it's a 10 minute or less process to revert to a previous image/setup. If
you use Imaging one benefit is an almost total lack of "Fresh Installing"
Windows XP.

There are numerous programs out there that promise to clean
your regisry, make the PC run faster or double your Internet
download speed. If your're lucky then they don't do anything
at all. If you're unlucky then they cripple your PC. If this was
my machine then I would re-install Windows after allowing the
disk to be formatted.

Re: Problems with PC since installing RegistryFix software

Is there an "undo" or "restore" changes feature in the program? Now you
know why those in the know don't recommend those registry "fixers". The
Windows installation might be compromised beyond reliable repair.

You could try a repair install first.

If that doesn't do it then it's a clean install

To undo the damage done by snake oil registry "cleaners," it's
quite often necessary to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS. You
might try performing a repair installation first, though, to see if that
can clear up the problems induced by the registry "cleaner."
