Fast User Switching Issues

I have a few issues when switching users on Windows XP. I only have
two accounts setup, and switch between them very frequently.

When moving from one logged in account to another, my video card seems
to temporarily go dead. The monitor goes black, the power button turns
orange, and it stays that way for about 2-3 seconds. Then, the
desktop jumps to life on the user that I selected.

If I move to the welcome screen and select the account I was just on,
everything goes smoothly. But when actually changing accounts, I get
the two or three seconds of lag.

The only thing I can think of is my Norton 360 antivirus software.
Other than that, nothing else comes to mind.

Regards,
John

Remove all Norton/Symantec software. Note, however, that removing
Norton software does not always fix the damaged system.

I'd rather not uninstall Norton if at all possible, I was hoping this
was a known issue of some sort.

John

Nothing to do with Norton. Ok, Norton is crap, and theres better
products than that, but its not THIS problem.

I'd say, your 2 different desktops are set to different resolutions,
bit depths and/or refresh rates. Windows is switching resolution when
you switch between them, your screen is having the fit at having to do
so.

Either live with it, or set both desktops to the exact same video
settings.

AFAIK not a known issue and if these problems did not occur in the past,
you should focus on the system changes (installations) that you've made
recently. Good luck.
