ERROR MESSAGE ???? - JUST INSTALLED IE 7

I just updated/installed IE 7 on my Toshiba laptop. During boot, I get this
error message:

SmartBridge Alerts: MotiveSB.exe - Entry Point not found.....Procedure
entry point Get ProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic
link library PSAPI.DLL

What does this mean and how can I fix it? IE 7 seems to be running OK but
it's an annoying message every time I turn on my computer.

Thanks!

After installing IE7, users may get a SmartBridge Alert error message at
startup. SmartBridge is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a
result, users may receive the following error message after installation
of IE7:

SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located
in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

To work around this error, navigate to the installation location for
SmartBridge (\Program Files\Verizon (or name of ISP)...\Smart...). Find
PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL. Reboot. The
program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory
and function normally.

Re: ERROR MESSAGE ???? - JUST INSTALLED IE 7

A,

This error was discussed around 5 months ago in this newsgroup & many times in
the IE Newsgroup

From what the IE 7 newsgroup said in the past is that you need to search for
that PSAPI.DLL file & rename it to domething like PSAPI.DLL.OLD

They say DO NOT RENAME THE PSAPI.DLL FILE IN THE SYSTEM32 FOLDER, just the other
one

Reboot & try that

You have BTHomeHub, and you installed the Browser which I think by Yahoo,
which is IE7?.
You have IE7 installed recently with Auto Updates from MS so you are getting
this error message for the PSAPI.DLL Dynamic link Library file.
"Read the Release Notes of IE7"
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/aa740486.aspx

Work around this:
Locate or Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL or
PSAPI.OLD.
Path: C:\Windows\System32\PSAPIOLD.DLL
Reboot the system, when the system start will recreate the PSAPI.DLL on
Reboot.
HTH.
