| Power loss clears Temp internet files On many occasions I was online and the electric power suddenly went off, when I came back I had lost all of my temp internet files. This happened for many instances. This creates big problems for me cause I visit all my websites and read them offline. I also changed my temp internet files location but in vain. Does anyone know the solution? |

Losing temp internet files is one of the milder things that can happen to you if there's a sudden loss of power. | Re: Power loss clears Temp internet files Thanks for your suggestions but here in our country UPSs are very expensive and I can't affored them. My question is that why do only temp internet files get cleaned up why not other files that are already stored, but why does this folder get completly lost? | Re: Power loss clears Temp internet files They are somewhat expensive but they do not cost more than a new hard drive. You are really taking chances ranging from data loss to hardware failure by not using an UPS. You don't know that those temp files are the only files you have lost and I don't know why that folder seems to be targeted each time. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2007 "Techman" <Techman@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6DAFBCE4-AB3A-47DB-8DB4-43E1F8705353@microsoft.com... > Thanks for your suggestions but here in our country UPSs are very > expensive > and I can't affored them. > My question is that why do only temp internet files get cleaned up why not > other files that are already stored, but why does this folder get > completly > lost? > > "Ron Badour" wrote: > >> You have probably lost other files as well since you apparently are not >> using a battery back up Uninterrupted Power Supply. >> >> -- >> Regards >> >> Ron Badour >> MS MVP 1997 - 2007 >> >> >> "Techman" <Techman@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:8F347EFF-6241-43CA-9881-9A8B2D7FA2D7@microsoft.com... >> > On many occasions I was online and the electric power suddenly went >> > off, >> > when I came back I had lost all of my temp internet files. >> > This happened for many instances. >> > This creates big problems for me cause I visit all my websites and read >> > them >> > offline. >> > I also changed my temp internet files location but in vain. >> > >> > Does anyone know the solution? >> >> >> |

| Re: Power loss clears Temp internet files Perhaps thinking through this process will be beneficial. Since the drive is being crashed, the power loss is not what is clearing the files. That leaves one or two possibilities, the files weren't closed and the resultant chkdsk when you started back up cleaned the mess up, OR something is set to clear the area when you open the browser? Anyway crashing all the time from power loss will eventually lead to a non-functioning installation, it's only a matter of when. | Re: Power loss clears Temp internet files The files get washed whenever I am accessing the files whether offline or online, but while I am not accessing the files power interuption does not delete them.
