Lost data?

I know this is the wrong group for Word but I can't seem to find it. I have a
customer who is wrighting a book who somehow managed to lose it while she was
saving a new page. She can't remember what Word challenged her when she saved
the new page but the Save As box came up. Now she has only one page out of
hundreds saved. Doesn't Word automatically make backups? Where are they
located?

You definitely need to post this in one of the Word newsgroups.

microsoft.public.word.application.errors
microsoft.public.word.conversions
microsoft.public.word.newusers
microsoft.public.word.general
