My situation is, if I print a document that's more then one page, all the
print goes on one piece of paper. Like as if the printer isn't getting the
page breaks.

I found that is also happens on an HP LJ 4200n printer that I connect to via
its IP address.

We just bought an HP LJ 5550dnt that I found I can print just fine to.
Multiple pages print on multiple pages.



I talked to CDW where I bought these printers and they couldn't figure out
any reason for the behavior.

question. Windows Update drivers may have "upgraded" to an incorrect

to be working fine. I'll some more testing...

That's not exactly a "solution". If you turn them back on, inspect the
advanced options section that should be accessible through a button titled
something similar to "advanced" or "preferences" when you try to print
something. Inside you should find the settings for the printers advanced
features, and I'm betting that within this you will find an option to print
multiple pages to a single sheet. My Epson printer has this setting under
the "layout" tab, though I'm sure your HP will be different, but similar.

Below is a link to the manual for the LJ 1300. Check chapter 3, Page 38, of
the PDF file. It will clearly spell out how to correct your problem. I'm
betting that your other HP will be almost identical to this. If not, just
do a Google search for the manual...

Unfortunately the printer/driver doesn't work correctly and all the
"printing" is the full size instead of being reduced to it's portion of
the page. So "killing" the non-working feature of the printer, and using
the equivilent feature in, say Word solves the issue.

Thought I'd share this reply I got from HP support

1. As all the pages are printed on a single sheet, please make the following
settings:



a. Click start>Printer and Faxes.

b. Right click on the HP LaserJet 4200 printer icon and click Printing
Preferences.

c. Click on the "Finishing tab".

d. Under the Document option, scroll and select "1 page per sheet" for the
Pages per sheet option.



Now, please follow the steps mentioned below to change the driver settings:



1. Click Start, Printers and faxes

2. Right click HP LaserJet 4200 printer

3. Click Printing preferences

4. Click Advanced tab

5. Click on the '+' symbol of the Paper/ Output

6. Increase the number of copies in count copy

7. Click on the collate option.

8. Click Apply and OK to save changes



Please try to print documents and check if the issue persists.



If the issue persists, then the issue may be with the printer drivers, you
need to install the hp LaserJet 4200 PCL5e driver for the HP LaserJet 4200
printer.



You can download the latest PCL 5e driver from the following URL:



http://www.hp.com/support/lj4200



Once the page opens, please perform the following steps:

a. Click 'download drivers & software'.

b. Select the HP LaserJet 4200 printer.

c. Select the Operating System Microsoft Windows XP.

d. Click the HP LaserJet 4200 PCL 5e driver.

Is there any reason to run the PCL6 driver over the PCL5 driver?

When they say to run the latest drive, do they mean PCL6 or the latest
version of PCL5 or PCL6?

I think I can help you out or at least point you in the right direction. HP
has great tech support. Log onto their website and select the live chat
option and explain your proble. Chances are it is a HP issue and not a
Microsoft issue. Also try printing a test page and if that comes out screwed
up follow the troubleshooting tips. Let me know if this helps.
