| How to rename my HHD? I want to change the name of my HHD "H" (which gives me the "error" "free 5000k of space") to "C" so I can install Flash player, If I change the name of HHD "H" to "C", will I have any problems with files/programs created/installed on "H"? Thanx for your imput, D 3.0 |

| Re: How to rename my HHD? Problems; allmost certainly as your windows registry, on whichever is your system disk, by default C, will have pointers to H. While it is possible to change the drive letter from H: to C:, this would partially cripple your system. If FlashPlayer won't install on drive C: then you can probably fool it with this little trick: - Click Start / Run / cmd {OK} - Type this command: subst C: H:\ {OK} |

| Re: How to rename my HHD? Sigh . . . Yet another poster who believes that files saved on a hard disk are there in perpetuity. One day you will get a very rude suprise when you find that your hard disk has failed or that some malfunction has destroyed your file system. Important files must be stored on at least two separate media. It's a lesson that many people learn after the first big disaster, and the tuition fees for this lesson are very, very steep. Backing up once a week to a 2.5" disk installed in an external USB case is much, much cheaper and far less painful. Disconnect it first, or give it a different drive letter, then try again!
