Windows XP Pro gone wild

I upgraded my computer with a new processor, new MB and new memory but left
everything else the same. I am now getting the error message "Windows
Product Activation" "This copy of windows must be activated with microsoft
before you can log on." Do you want to activate now? and then my mouse and
my keyboard lock up. What does this mean. I went from a 1.8mhz machine
with 1g memory to a duo core processor/2g memory. Can anybody tell me what
I need to do? The BIO does recognize the keyboard and the mouse.

Thanks for any assistance.

Re: Windows XP Pro gone wild

A "repair" installation and re-activation at the very minimum.

It's surprising you got that far. Often systems modified like that won't
boot at all. You need to do a repair install, use the motherboard driver
CD, and then activate, and do all the Windows updates.
