I have been happily using the quick launch tool bar for a long time without
problem.

Today when I click an item instead of the program opening a window opens
which is titled with the program shortcut's name followed by "Properties"
with options called "Gereral", "Shortcut", or "Compatability.

I have tried various options and am unable to return the tool bar to normal
opperation.

I have checked XP help, the Microsoft site, as well as "Googling" the
problem without success at a cure.

Anyone have any suggestions as to a) a cure of the problem and b) what
caused it?

A few things to try:

- Fix File Associations. Use the LNK fix.

- Right-click the Taskbar, click Toolbars, and deselect the QL toolbar.
Then select it again.

- Go to http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm and try some of the
suggestions there.

The shortcuts Properties are opening, check your ALT key to see if it's stuck down.

ALT+Click = open properties
